Avance provides practical, accessible programs designed to open doors of opportunity. We offer English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, GED preparation in Spanish, computer training, family life skills workshops, and supportive human services, including homelessness prevention.

About What We Do & How We Got Here
At the heart of Avance, the vision and mission began 10 years ago with a group of teens under the leadership of Raquel Lara….brainstorming how to serve the community in a more impactful way. It was then that an after school pilot program began called Y0-VA clubs that centered around Biblical truths and life-skill development. Due to the rapid growth of the program and growing needs of the community, YO-VA evolved into a new entity called Avance Community Center, a non-profit organization committed to community growth.
We actively collaborate with local stakeholders, including businesses, educational institutions, and other non-profits. By fostering partnerships, we leverage collective strengths and resources to maximize our impact.
